Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PETER Demo ("PETER", "the Demo", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you access or use the application.

PETER Demo is designed as a local-first demonstration environment. Application data created during the Demo is stored in your browser rather than in a central application database operated by us.

1. In Short

Your attendance data and attendance photos created in the Demo are designed to remain on your device and are not uploaded to our application servers.

However, accessing any website necessarily involves network communication. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request information, and security logs as necessary to deliver and protect the website.

We do not intentionally use the Demo to collect, sell, or build a remote database of your attendance information or attendance photos.

2. How the Demo Stores Data

PETER uses PGlite, a PostgreSQL database compiled to WebAssembly that runs inside your browser.

The Demo may also use the browser's Origin Private File System (OPFS) to store attendance photos.

As a result, application data created by the Demo is stored within the browser's local storage environment.

This includes, where applicable:

  • Staff information.
  • Attendance dates and timestamps.
  • Clock-in and clock-out status.
  • Attendance photos.
  • Other information necessary for the Demo's functionality.

There is no central PETER Demo database that receives these records.

3. What Data Is Used in the Demo

Fictional Demo Data

The Demo may be pre-seeded with fictional staff information and attendance records for demonstration purposes.

These records are intended to represent sample data and are not intended to identify real individuals.

Information You Enter

You may enter information while testing the Demo.

Any application information you enter is stored locally in your browser and is not intentionally transmitted to our application servers.

Please do not enter real personal or sensitive information unless you have a legitimate reason and appropriate authorization to do so.

Attendance Photos

If you use the camera-based attendance feature, the Demo may capture an image and associate it with an attendance record.

These photos are stored locally in your browser's OPFS storage and are not intentionally uploaded to our application servers.

4. Camera Access and Processing

The Demo requests permission to access your device camera when camera functionality is used.

Camera frames may be processed locally using browser-based computer vision libraries, including MediaPipe Vision.

This processing occurs on your device.

The Demo does not intentionally transmit camera frames or captured attendance photos to our servers.

You can deny or revoke camera access through your browser settings. Camera functionality may be unavailable if permission is denied.

5. Technical Information

Although application data is stored locally, visiting the Demo requires network communication with the website and its hosting infrastructure.

Depending on the infrastructure involved, standard technical information may be processed, such as:

  • IP address.
  • Browser and user-agent information.
  • Device or operating-system information.
  • Requested resources.
  • Timestamps and request information.
  • Security and diagnostic information.

This information may be processed by hosting, CDN, security, or other infrastructure providers to operate and protect the website.

This technical information is different from the attendance records and photos stored locally by the Demo.

6. Hosting

The Demo is hosted using Cloudflare Pages .

Cloudflare may process technical request information as part of providing hosting, CDN, security, and related infrastructure services.

7. Analytics and Tracking

The Demo does not intentionally use:

  • Advertising trackers.
  • Third-party advertising.
  • Analytics services for behavioral profiling.
  • Tracking cookies.

Browser storage used by PGlite and OPFS is used to provide the Demo's functionality and is not intended as an advertising or behavioral tracking mechanism.

8. Third-Party Libraries

The Demo uses open-source libraries and browser technologies, which may include PGlite, MediaPipe Vision, and other dependencies.

These libraries perform their intended processing within the Demo.

Using these libraries does not by itself mean that your attendance data or photos are sent to their developers or maintainers.

9. Data Sharing

We do not intentionally sell or rent your Demo application data.

Because attendance records and photos are stored locally in your browser, we do not have a server-side copy of those records to routinely access or share.

Technical information may be processed by infrastructure providers as described above.

Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid request from a competent authority.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Your locally stored Demo data remains subject to your browser's storage behavior.

You can remove the Demo's locally stored data by clearing this site's stored data through your browser settings.

This removes the Demo data stored in that browser environment and may not be reversible.

We do not provide server-side backups or recovery for Demo data.

Technical logs maintained by infrastructure providers may be retained according to their own policies and operational requirements.

11. Security

PETER Demo is demonstration software and has not been represented as production-grade software or as having undergone a formal security audit .

Local browser storage may be accessible to other users of the same browser profile or device, depending on the device and browser configuration.

Browser storage should not be treated as a secure replacement for a properly managed production database.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you do not enter real sensitive personal information into the Demo.

12. Children's Privacy

The Demo is intended primarily for adults evaluating or testing a technical demonstration.

We do not intentionally request or collect personal information from children through a server-side account or database.

If the Demo is used in a school or other environment involving minors, the person or organization operating that use is responsible for ensuring that appropriate permissions, notices, safeguards, and legal requirements are satisfied.

13. Philippine Privacy Law

For users in the Philippines, applicable privacy requirements may include the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules and related guidance.

This Privacy Policy describes the current PETER Demo architecture and data practices. It is not legal advice.

A future production deployment of PETER may have a substantially different architecture and may process personal information on behalf of organizations. Such deployments may therefore require additional privacy notices, agreements, retention policies, security controls, access controls, and other compliance measures.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Demo's functionality, infrastructure, or data practices change.

The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect.
